Tissues may recover from injury/stress through repair and regeneration, or respond through cellular adaptation. If the insult persists, then chronic inflammation may occur leading to long term damage.

Tissue: Lung

This woman was suffering from cough and low grade fever. She was malnourished and debilitated. Her general condition deteriorated rapidly during investigations and she died in coma before a definitive diagnosis could be made.

The lung contains numerous pale nodules ranging from 1 to 7mm in diameter.
