Lecture outline

Vascular disease is important leading to 25% of all deaths. The first lecture will describe the pathological process of atherosclerosis. The second lecture will describe the pathological sequelae in the major organs.

Tissue: Coronary arteries

History of angina. Admitted with sustained central chest pain. Cardiac arrest 12 hours after admission. Could not be resuscitated.

Here is the right coronary artery showing a segment of narrowing due to a soft atheromatous plaque and adherent thrombus.
